The national SPEC MIX organization strongly supports the continuing education at all levels of the build process. We support the American Institute of Architects and choose to play an active role in the continuing education of its members with our for credit AIA/CES course Factory Preblended Mortar for Masonry Construction. This interactive seminar has attendees participating in hands-on demonstrations illustrating the quality of factory produced mortar compared to the inconsistencies associated with site-mixed mortar. Participants also will discover the requirements necessary to achieve consistent colored mortar every time. Now architects and specifiers can be assured that the products they specify are manufactured to exceed all applicable ASTM standards.

FACTORY PREBLENDED MORTAR FOR MASONRY CONSTRUCTION

Whether the project calls for, (1) standard masonry mortar, (2) colored mortar, (3) integral water repellent (IWR) mortar and/or (4) masonry grout, the SPEC MIX MANU-SPEC provides the design and structural community with proprietary product information in standard Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) electronic format. This tool allows specifiers to insert SPEC MIX product information directly into project specifications. By presenting information in an industry accepted format, our MANU-SPEC makes product selection easy while saving specifiers hours of research and writing time.

To make life and work easier for specifiers, we offer SPEC MIX on SpecWizard® by ARCAT, a product specification tool that assists and guides spec writers through the selecting and configuring of a building product specification. It's simple and fast! By searching for SPEC MIX on www.arcat.com or simply searching by CSI product division on ARCAT's site, specifiers can build a their own product spec for numerous types of SPEC MIX mortars and masonry grout by checking the desired properties of the required material. The final specification is assembled in the CSI 3-part format, based on the decisions each specifier makes when selecting and configuring the product. They can then download the specification and include it in the project specification as well as the office master.
